Having photographed a wedding on a cloudy grey day in Brighton the day before, I was very pleased to see the sun in Worthing for Edward and Diana’s wedding at the Chatsworth Hotel on the Steyne.
I arrived rather earlier than perhaps I should and ended up wandering round the hotel for a hour or so taking random shots. The ceremony was in the very nice Hartington first floor room overlooking the sea on one side and the Steyne gardens on the other. It was rather odd at one point to look out of the window of the Hartington Room whilst preparing and see my two eldest sons playing football on the grass outside!
The room provided a lot of light and both Edward and Diana have a natural ability to smile just at the right time. They were a pleasure to photograph. We took the main group shots on the lawns of the Steyne and I wished I had had a ladder as it would have provided a little more room for manoeuvre. However, I think we got everyone in. There always seem to be one or two in a large party who don’t really want to be photographed and hide behind taller people!
I then took Edward and Diana over the road to the beach. The sun was setting and we were very lucky to get some beautiful light and very nice photographs with Worthing pier in the background. As a Worthing Wedding Photographer it is strange that this is only my second wedding in Worthing.
I stayed on for the wedding breakfast and reception, leaving at around 9pm. I am sure Edward and Diana will be very pleased with the way their wedding has been captured and hopefully it will preserve some lovely memories for them.
